As a luxury home builder in Hughesdale, our clients approached us with a specific brief for the design of this new home, in that it must be sympathetic to the existing streetscape. As a knock down and rebuild the opportunity was there for the right designer and builder to create something spectacular and that’s exactly what we did with this luxury period style home!
The most exceptional aspect of building this new home arose from the complex design. Where the upper storey for a similar home would typically be light clad, our clients had their hearts set on brickwork, and we were determined to deliver what our clients wanted. Concealed behind the eye-catching façade is a frame of superior strength to support the additional weight of the upper storey brickwork. To accommodate the added weight load of the upper storey brickwork the structural design of the home required a substantial part of the ground floor framework to be constructed in steel. Measurements for windows and cabinetry had to be calculated with precision at a very early stage in the build, to ensure they worked seamlessly with the structural steel. So, when all these elements came together towards the end of the build, we were very proud of the fact that it all worked flawlessly, in no small part due to Wayne’s 28 years’ experience as a luxury home builder and his project management skills.
The façade of this luxury home in Hughesdale has a distinctly heritage character derived from the selection of the timeless Daniel Robertson bricks, impressive terracotta roof tiles and the timber sash windows. The custom designed front entry door with authentic lead lighting compliments the façade perfectly. From the street its obvious that this home has been built with care and is finished to the highest quality standards.
The array of features in this 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home are extensive and as it was custom designed to suit our clients and their young family ample storage has been integrated into almost every room. Premium finishes are evident throughout, as this home has been built and designed to be lived in and loved for years to come. The large kitchen and butler’s pantry complete with premium appliances, are not only incredibly beautiful but also highly functional. The island bench with designer marble waterfall benchtop is a truly spectacular feature in this room.
One of our greatest joys is when our clients share our love of natural timber flooring and this Spotted Gum floor brings warmth and a sense of comfort to this new home. It is complemented flawlessly by a solid Spotted Gum and glass staircase. The decking in the alfresco area has been meticulously laid by our skilled carpenters whose workmanship is showcased in the attention-grabbing timber step work. Who said the front entry had to have ALL the attention?
As any honest builder will tell you there are always challenges with each job and this one was no different, but Wayne took this in his stride and worked alongside our key tradesmen and suppliers to ensure the building process was as streamlined and hassle free for our clients as possible. As a well-respected luxury home builder, we take every care to foresee any hurdles in the construction phase and to put plans in place to keep things moving along.
Due to its technical complexity, the completion of this home was definitely one of our proudest accomplishments in our years of experience as a luxury home builder.
