As period homes builders we love that this magnificent Edwardian period style home was a real talking point in the area. Built in a new subdivision where contemporary homes were the springing up, this home really stood out from the rest. Indeed, in the final stages of completion, one of the finishing tradesmen was certain this was a ‘very good renovation’ and not a brand new home!
We built this home (from scratch) as a faithful reproduction of the period, with detailed fretwork verandahs, tessellated tiling, high ceilings, elaborate cornices, ceiling roses and corbelled arches but also included the modern conveniences. Reclaimed Jarrah flooring and feature double hung windows and doors, completed the old world feel of this beautiful home.
Our clients (a family with teenagers) came to us after having had an unpleasant experience while building their previous home. They were naturally concerned about avoiding this situation again, so we spent some time going through all the details of their dream home. They had definite ideas about how their custom new home should look, as they were keen collectors of antique furniture, and desired a home that would not only be comfortable for their family but also a perfect showplace for their beloved antique pieces.
